Lease a Buick: Incentives, GM Programs, Taxes and Lease-End Rules (2026)
Reviewed by Luai Saadeh, Director of Sales at AutoBandit · Last updated: September 29, 2026
Buick sells four SUVs in the U.S. right now: the Envista, the Encore GX, the Envision and the three-row Enclave. All of them are leased through GM Financial, the same in-house lender that handles Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac. That shared lender explains why Buick lease deals follow a recognizable pattern. Terms are short, mileage allowances are low, and the lowest advertised payments usually go to people who already have a lease.
Below: how that pattern works, which GM programs can lower your cost, how taxes hit a Buick lease, and GM Financial's lease-end rules. When you want real numbers for your ZIP code, compare pre-priced Buick lease offers on AutoBandit from verified dealerships.

Where You Can Lease a Buick Through AutoBandit
AutoBandit serves buyers in 16 states:
California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
AutoBandit isn't available nationwide. More states are planned.
Buick dealers currently listing on AutoBandit are concentrated in these areas:
- New Jersey: several dealers, including stores in Mahwah
- New York: Long Island City and White Plains
- Los Angeles and Orange County: Sherman Oaks, the South Bay, Cerritos and Buena Park
- Texas: Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth, including Grapevine and Plano
- Connecticut
- Midwest: Schaumburg, Illinois; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Appleton, Wisconsin
- Northern Virginia: Alexandria
Live in a service state without a nearby Buick dealer, such as Florida, Pennsylvania or Ohio? You can still lease from a Buick dealer on AutoBandit in another state. Tax and registration generally follow where you live, so confirm how the dealer will handle them.
Dealers and inventory change, so your ZIP code search shows what's available to you now, priced for your location and credit tier. You compare offers and complete the transaction online. Pickup or delivery depends on the dealer; some offer delivery, so check before you plan around it.
Choosing a Buick to Lease: How Each Model Behaves
A Buick lease is priced off the selling price, the residual value GM Financial assigns, and that month's incentives. Each model plays out differently.
| Model | MSRP incl. destination | Drivetrain | Final assembly | What matters on a lease |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Envista | $26,495 – $31,295 | FWD only | South Korea | Lowest entry price; fixed fees are a bigger share of total cost |
| 2026 Encore GX | $27,995 – $33,495 (FWD) | FWD or AWD | South Korea | Small footprint with optional AWD |
| 2026 Envision | $42,995 – $52,695 | AWD | China | Final run of the current generation |
| 2027 Enclave | $48,595 – $67,295 | FWD or AWD | USA | Three rows; the only Buick that qualifies for the new loan-interest deduction if you finance |
Envista. Buick's best seller and its least expensive model, offered with front-wheel drive only. On a car this affordable, fixed costs like the acquisition fee, doc fee and first payment are a larger slice of the total, so compare full cost, not the headline payment. A refreshed 2027 Envista has been spotted testing, so make sure you know which model year a quote covers.
Encore GX. It's priced close to the Envista but offers all-wheel drive. Destination-charge increases pushed a Preferred FWD from $27,195 at launch to $27,995, so older quotes may be out of date.
Envision. The Envision is built in China, and tariffs pushed its base price up about $5,000 between spring 2025 and early 2026. Reports say current-generation production wound down in late summer 2026; GM has confirmed the next compact Buick will be built in Kansas starting in 2028, name unconfirmed. On a standard closed-end lease, the residual value is set when you sign. If used prices for the outgoing generation soften later, you can return the car instead of absorbing the loss, unless you choose to buy it out.
Enclave. The only Buick assembled in the U.S. For 2027, Preferred and Sport Touring rose just $200, while the Avenir rose $3,300 because Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance is now standard. Dealers are selling 2026 and 2027 Enclaves side by side, and the two model years don't always carry the same incentives. Check which year a quote is for.

How to Read a Buick Lease Ad
Buick's national ads are built around a specific shopper. Before comparing one with a dealer quote, pull out five details: monthly payment, term, due at signing, mileage allowance and eligibility requirement.
Here's a published example. Buick's September 2026 national program for a 2026 Enclave Preferred FWD advertised $419 a month for 24 months, with $7,559 due at signing and 10,000 miles a year. It was a loyalty offer that required an eligible current lease. That program ended September 30.
Spread the due-at-signing money across the term and you get a truer monthly cost:
($7,559 + 23 × $419) ÷ 24 ≈ $717 per month
That's about 70% more than the headline payment, before taxes, title, registration and dealer fees, which Buick ads exclude.
Methodology: This assumes the first monthly payment is included in the amount due at signing, which is how GM national lease ads are usually structured. If an offer's disclosure says otherwise, add one more payment to the math. This example is for education only. It isn't an AutoBandit offer or a current price.
"After all offers." Every incentive is already subtracted, including loyalty cash. If you don't qualify for one of them, your payment goes up.
"Ultra low-mileage lease." This means 10,000 miles a year. Drive 13,000 and over a 24-month lease you would be 6,000 miles over; at $0.25 a mile, that is a $1,500 turn-in bill. Ask whether you can buy extra miles at signing.
"Available in the [city] market area." The offer is regional. Buick has run different payments for the same model in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and Detroit. The same car can cost more or less depending on your ZIP code.
GM and Buick Programs That Can Lower Your Lease
Nearly every Buick incentive comes through a GM-wide program. Buick says most can be combined with most current offers; each program's terms list the exceptions.
Lease loyalty and conquest support
Lease loyalty support goes to current GM lessees; lease conquest support goes to people leasing a competing brand. Recent national Buick specials have mostly required being a current lessee of a 2021-or-newer vehicle. Some Envision offers were narrower and required a Buick or GMC lease. GM's disclosures also typically require that your current lease has been in place for at least 30 days, and you'll need proof of it. If you own your car outright or haven't leased recently, expect a higher payment than the ad shows.
Model-specific lease cash
Some months GM puts cash directly on a model's lease program, such as up to $2,750 on the 2027 Enclave in September 2026. It's applied as a capitalized cost reduction, which lowers your payment but can be taxable in some states.
Purchase allowances don't carry over to leases
Recent Envista and Encore GX purchase allowances of $2,000 to $2,250 were for buyers who purchase or finance. GM's fine print says purchase offers aren't available with a lease. A banner reading "$2,250 cash back" doesn't mean $2,250 off your lease.
GM affiliate and appreciation programs
Buick's official discount page lists these programs, each offering a discounted price on select new Buicks for lease or purchase.
| Program | Who's eligible |
|---|---|
| GM Family First | GM employees and eligible family members (GM Employee Discount Price) |
| GM Supplier Discount | Eligible employees of GM supplier companies |
| GM Dealership Employee Discount | Eligible GM dealership staff |
| GM Military Program | Active-duty members, reservists, National Guard members, and all veterans and retirees of the U.S. armed forces, plus their spouses |
| GM First Responder Program | Eligible firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs, paramedics and 911 dispatchers |
Some dealers still advertise educator or college-grad discounts, but Buick's official page doesn't currently list them. Confirm before counting on one.
How incentives show up on AutoBandit
When you set up your search, you answer a few questions about your situation, such as whether you have a current lease or qualify for a military or first responder program. Where a listing supports it, the offer shows which incentives and dealer discounts are reflected in its price.
Dealers set their own pricing, and AutoBandit doesn't negotiate on your behalf. The dealer and GM Financial confirm eligibility, so have proof ready, like a current lease statement or military verification.

Buick Lease Taxes: Two Things Shoppers Miss
1. The new car-loan interest deduction doesn't cover leases
Federal law now lets eligible taxpayers deduct up to $10,000 a year in interest on a loan for a new personal vehicle. It applies to tax years 2025 through 2028, with strict limits:
- The vehicle's final assembly must take place in the U.S.
- The loan must be secured by a lien on the vehicle.
- Lease financing is excluded.
- The deduction phases out above $100,000 of modified adjusted gross income for single filers and $200,000 for joint filers.
Among Buicks, only the Enclave passes the assembly test. The Envista and Encore GX are assembled in South Korea and the Envision in China, so they don't qualify even if you finance.
If you're weighing a lease against a loan on an Enclave and your income is under the phase-out, run both. Hypothetical example: a $50,000 five-year loan at 6% generates about $2,760 in interest in its first year. For someone in the 22% federal bracket, that deduction is worth roughly $600 for the year. Useful, but not always enough to outweigh a well-supported lease program.
This is general education, not tax advice. Ask a tax professional how the rules apply to your situation, including a later lease buyout. Source: IRS: car loan interest under the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.
2. Sales tax can reach your due-at-signing money
States tax leases in different ways:
- Most states tax a lease one monthly payment at a time.
- New York, New Jersey and Minnesota tax the total of all your payments upfront.
- Texas taxes the vehicle's value.
Many states also tax the cash you put down, since it counts as a capitalized cost reduction. States differ on whether manufacturer rebates and lease cash are taxed. That matters here: national Buick programs have asked for roughly $4,000 to $7,500 at signing, and many AutoBandit Buick dealers are in New York and New Jersey.
Hypothetical New York City example: 24 payments of $419 total $10,056. At the city's combined 8.875% rate, tax on those payments alone is about $892, due at signing or rolled into the lease. Any tax on the down payment comes on top of that.
Some states also tax the disposition fee at lease end. Before you sign, ask to see tax as its own line and what it's charged on.
Methodology: The payment figures come from a published September 2026 national Enclave offer and illustrate the tax method only. This isn't a tax determination. Rates and rules change, so verify with your state's revenue agency or a tax professional.

Returning or Buying Out a Buick Lease With GM Financial
Get the free inspection. GM Financial offers a complimentary pre-return inspection at your home, workplace or a dealership. It suggests booking within 90 days of lease end through your GM Financial account, by texting LEASEEND to 53721, or by calling 1-800-284-2271. The report shows what could be billed as excess wear.
Know what counts as excess wear. GM Financial's examples include missing or broken parts, dented panels and cracked glass. Small everyday scuffs are normal.
Staying with GM softens the bill. If you buy or lease a new GM vehicle after turning in your Buick:
- You may get a partial waiver of excess wear charges.
- Your disposition fee may be waived. GM Financial's recent guides describe it as up to $495.
- My GM Rewards members can use points toward excess wear or mileage charges.
Watch for the final invoice. If you simply return the car, GM Financial mails a Lease-End Liability Invoice 30 to 45 days later covering wear, mileage, disposition and remaining charges.
Buyouts go through a GM dealer. You can buy your leased Buick at any time, which avoids wear, mileage and disposition charges. GM Financial doesn't process lease purchases through non-GM dealerships.
Extensions don't add miles. If you extend your lease, your original mileage allowance stays the same. Any excess is billed at your contract rate.
For more on the fee itself, read what a disposition fee is.

Before You Sign: A Buick Lease Checklist
Under the Consumer Leasing Act and Regulation M, the leasing company must give you written disclosures before you sign, including the amount due at signing, payment schedule, purchase option and early-termination terms. Check them against this list:
- Incentives. Which offers are built into the price, and do you qualify for each one?
- Total cost. Add the amount due at signing to all remaining payments, and compare that number.
- Mileage. Does the allowance match how much you actually drive?
- Model year. Is the car a 2026 or a 2027?
- Taxes. What's taxed, and when? Ask for tax as its own line.
- The exits. Read the purchase option and early termination sections.

Buick Lease FAQ
How do I find a Buick lease near me?
Enter your ZIP code in the search at the top of this page. AutoBandit serves buyers in 16 states, and buyers anywhere in those states can lease from Buick dealers on the platform, including out-of-state ones. Buick's own programs are partly regional, so a national ad may not match local offers.
Can I lease a Buick if I do not have a lease right now?
Yes. Most of Buick's lowest advertised payments assume you are a current lessee, though, so without that your payment for the same car will usually be higher. Ask whether a conquest program or model-specific lease cash applies to you instead.
Does Buick offer 36-month leases?
Yes. National programs have leaned toward 24-month terms, but 36-month offers appear too, and dealers set their own terms. A longer term usually lowers the monthly payment but raises the total you pay.
Should I lease a Buick Envision now that the current model is ending?
Leasing can limit your resale risk, since the residual is set at signing. Buying may make more sense if you will keep the car well past a typical lease term.
What credit score do I need to lease a Buick?
GM Financial sets its own credit tiers, and the best advertised terms go to top-tier approvals. AutoBandit asks for your credit tier when you sign up, because prices on the platform are adjusted to it. See what credit score you need to lease a car and whether you can lease with bad credit.
Should I lease a 2026 or a 2027 Buick Enclave?
Get quotes for both. Lease cash and residual values can differ by model year, so the older car isn't automatically the cheaper lease.
Can I lease a used or certified pre-owned Buick through AutoBandit?
No. Dealers on AutoBandit list new vehicles only.
